Now it's time to highlight some of my own key skills as a Creative Constructor...

Carpentry

I've fallen in love with the world of carpentry & everything it stands for!

I've had experience working in carpentry workshops and have been trained on a wide range of machines & power tools, such as the table saw, radial-arm saw, jigsaw & router.

I've been involved in a wide range of carpentry projects from scenery builds to creative interior furnishings

Scenic Construction

I'd describe myself as a carpentry based scenic constructor with an understanding of the metal working side of the trade.

I've done my fair share of angle grinding & metal prepping alongside learning the basics of MIG welding.

I've been involved in the creation of something as carpentry heavy as a set of curved treads to a dazzling metal decorative screen for a party scene.

Creativity

Creativity forms the fundamental grounding of who I am and it plays a huge role in how I approach creative projects both within the production industry and further afield.

I've explored a range of projects & mediums over the years and I hope to continue expanding my skills & knowledge further as I carry on delving into the creative world.

Prop Making

After my brief introduction into the world of prop making, I now have a clear understanding of the main skills & processes used in this environment as well as a basic understanding of the properties behind a wide range of materials like resin, plaster, fiberglass, polystryrene & leather.

I've been involved in the creation of something as small as a faux pepper all the way to a life-size virgin mary.

Problem Solving

The art of problem-solving has always played a prominent role in my thought process especially when approaching unknown avenues due to my ability

to see projects from both a practical and creative perspective.

I've found flexibility alongside problem-solving plays a huge part in the success of a project, especially when working as part of a larger team.

Stage Technology

Alongside scenic construction, I've also dipped my toes into the world of stage technology as this department plays such a huge role in bringing theatre sets to life.

I've been lucky enough to briefly explore automation (Vector/Kinesys) alongside theatre flying & knots.

I've been involved backstage in a range of productions from operas/musicals to live events.
